I would like to add a book to your list on wrongful conviction. FALSE JUSTICE - EIGHT MYTHS THAT CONVICT THE INNOCENT is co-authored by my husband, Jim Petro, former attorney general of Ohio and me. Jim was the first state attorney general to intervene on behalf of a convicted and imprisoned client of the Innocence Project. It was a risky political move but ultimately very rewarding. The absolute innocence of Clarence Elkins, who had been wrongfully convicted of murder and rape and sentenced to life in prison, opened Jim's eyes to this national nightmare. FALSE JUSTICE reveals Jim's search for true justice in this and other initiatives as a pro bono lawyer for the Innocence Project and public advocate for criminal justice reform. The publish date is October 5, 2010. Kaplan is the publisher; Simon & Schuster the distributor. For more information, please visit www.falsejustice.com. Thank you for the information you are providing on this site. -Nancy Petro
Thank you very much for sharing information about our book, False Justice, and for your work to bring broader awareness to the story of Dennis Fritz and other people who have been wrongfully convicted.
