The Midwest Innocence Project sounds great....Waouh. The Midwest Innocence Project sounds great. Diverting innocents away from prisons is a very noble cause. Indeed, I think it is better to have criminals free than one single innocent deprived of his liberty in a detention centre. Hence the crucial need to promote access to competent and effective legal counsel at the earliest stage possible after arrest. The worldwide legal community should focus its effort on empowering non-profit organization such as the MidWest Innocence Project not only with the financial means but with the intellectual capital to bring their innovative ideas to the next level. This is precisely what JusticeMakers (www.justicemakers.net), a global competition which rewards eight “heroes of criminal justice” with a $5,000 in seed funding to implement their initiatives locally seeks to do: unleash the collective energies of criminal defenders from around the world and realize the vast potential of international human rights legislation. Let´s great project idea like the Midwest Innocence Project be heard to make justice a more tangible reality.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
